Paris FW day 8: CHANEL

you know what they say: "save the best for the last" and i did. for my last day in paris it was Chanel! i spend the night on a new location in an amazing apartment on Av. Charles de Gaulle, had a quick coffee and hop to the metro. when i arrived at Grand Palais there was a huge crowd already. paparazzi were covering all the corners and street ends, hunting down the fashionistas. everyone was there, from sartorialist to facehunter, from french to chinese Elle.

the fact that it was cold, windy and raining didn`t bother a lot of people, but still it wasn`t pleasant. i was wearing my fur coat and was wraped in a warm scarf but was still cold so i can only imagine how girls in short dresses, summer sandals and thin jackets felt. everything for fashion! everything for Chanel!

not much was happening before the show, snapping pictures was everyones main occupation, even mine. the funniest thing was watching people try to get in. i mean it`s Chanel, how would you even dare to ask or attempt to sneak inside, don`t you have any respect? when doors closed and the show begun there were still some people with invitations running to see the show. the security was very strict so when a girl was left outside she was on the edge of tears. i think in the end the poor thing got in but i completely understand her despair. i would be so upset with myself if that had happend to me.

after it was all over, it was back to stalking people and snapping photos. still raining and still cold. the most persistant of us where there for almost 3 hours waiting for the models, but there was no sigh of ony of them. i also wanted to see Rachel Zoe but i think she wasn`t in paris this time. only Katy Perry. again! i don`t understand the fascination behind her so i just stood on my spot while everyone else went crazy. and they were even crazier when some male model (have no idea wich) came out, girls were screaming like they were in high school... and they probably were. he even kissed one of them so they went completely nuts. what ever!

so no sign of models, no sigm of Rachel, no Karl (like he would make an aperance right after the show)... it was time for my last walk around paris, my last lunch and coffee at starbucks and my last metro ride. it was actually realy romantic walking in the rain and singing la vie en rose in my mind. it was a beautiful end to my amazing trip. till next time!

Paris FW day 7

my trip was coming to an end so it was time to do some shopping... although i was on a budget i had to buy some souveniers for my loved ones. nothing for me, just for friends and family. i didn`t mind getting nothing for myself, paris was gift enough for me and i tried to treat myself everyday with macaroons, good wine and stuff like that anyway, so who needs gifts...

finding something for my lil bro was a chalenge. he loves japanese/anime stuff so i had to find the right stores. i wondered around Marais and even found some qute vintage/second hand stores but just had a quick look since the shops were packed with shoppers.

after i was hungry and had a quick bite in quick... i tought Chloe show was at 5 but in fact it was at 4 so i hurried to catch the end of the show but arrived to Jardin des Tuileries when everyone already left. oh well... since it was my last night in paris i did what i always do. went to Palais de Chaillot and watched the sundown and the Eiffel tower. it would be so nice if the locals wouldn`t bother me with questions like where am i from and why am i alone there every 2 minutes! but still, the view was making my eyes watery.

for dinner my host called a sushi delivery and we had a nice evening just staying in. i don`t remember when have i ever eaten so good. everything i tried was amazing, even fries in mcdonalds. and the wine! i think this was the first (or maybe the second) time i drank real champagne. mmmmmmmm... bubbly! and with strawberries! yes, my host was amazing... i will tell you more about it in later posts.

tomorrow: Chanel fashion show!

Paris FW day 6

i took it easy yesterday, didn't feel the fashion week madness at all. i prefered siting on steps in front of Sacre Cour, listening to live music and enjoying the moment. of course i could't resist to see what's happening at Issey Miyake and John Galliano. because of the rain there were less paparazzi and day 6 made it obvious a lot of bloggers already left Paris. i was a little lazy so mostly i just waited for the models. since i didn't have luck with Freja and Valerija Kelava also slipped by me, I was happy to snap Coco Rocha.

Paris FW day 5

i didn't feel like a stalker today at all so i left out my paparazzi duties... i was just laughing when all went crazy for Katie Perry at Viktor & Rolf. Cacharel was more laid back and we had the chance to snap the new models...
after i was tired of fashion shows (yes that can happen) and treated myself with a freanch meal, view from Montmartre and macaroons. i felt more happy than ever!

Paris FW day 4

there was a lot of running around today. first i went in front Christian Dior show. if Balmain was madness then Dior was apocalyptic. I have never seen this many paparazzi (and i once saw Madonna in Paris)... they were screaming like crazy and one even slaped his fellow photographer. crazy! i couldn't stand the crowd so i went to Isabel Marant early. it was less crazy but still a bit ridiculous. i was hunting for Freja but it seems that she's not even doing the shows. hope i'm wrong!
i had just enough time to do a quick stop at Sonia Rykiel and then run to my second show Amaya Arzuaga. i waited outside for more than an hour but was in the end left outside together with 50 or more people. we all had invitations so u can imagine how some of them were pissed! me included! i was freezing so that was it for me. it was time to go home.

Paris FW day 3

i saw my first show in Paris today. Manish Arora was colorful, asian inspired, shiny and breath taking! you have to check it out on style.com, my pictures are unfortunaly not so great. at first it didn't look so promising altho the scenery in an unfinished building of Cite de la Mode et du Design that is also a dock on Siene was amazing! the collectin was beautifuly crafted and the attendance of Betsey Johnson and ADR just confirmed that this is no 2nd grade show.
after i had just enough time to stop for a quick bite at starbucks and off to Balmain. the scene there was surreal. i felt like from another planet :) before the show nothing really was happening but after it was f**kin madness. i could't escape the crowd they were going crazy when all the models came out! and it was worth crowding a bit, my wish came true and i finaly meet Freya. i'm even more in love now she looks gorgeus! they all do! like some divine creatures...

Paris FW day 1 & 2

I had the most amazing 2 days in Paris. Yesterday chilling with my friend and my host and today stalking people at fashion shows. I actually had invitations for three shows yesterday but since I forgot to check my mail the minute I got to Paris, I missed them. What a bummer!
Being in front of shows is so funny tho. There are almost more photographers and bloggers than real fashion people. And when the show starts you really see who was invited and who was there just showing himself. Bloggers are taking pictures of each other, just to be seen... With that in mind I did see some really stylish people.
